Here at Hephzibah House, we think deeply about Christian hospitality.

One thing we know: it’s a team sport.

  • Pennie Morgan, Director

Pennie Morgan has been involved with Hephzibah House since 2012 as a volunteer and board member and became Director in May 2021. Originally from Indiana, she attended The King’s College in Manhattan where she earned her degree in Politics, Philosophy and Economics. With every passing year, her heart for NYC only deepened as she dove into city life, working in marketplace and non-profit roles, discovering a robust Christian community, and starting her family in the city. She and her husband Andy renovated and refreshed Hephzibah House in the summer of 2021 and now live onsite with their three children. The whole family treasures the relationships with our guests from around the world. Early in her tenure, Pennie recognized that Hephzibah could fill the felt need for affordable ministry space in NYC. She has since forged partnerships with over 40 city ministries and churches who now use Hephzibah House for ministry. She counts it a privilege to steward both the physical building and the spiritual mission of Hephzibah House.

  • Front Desk Team

Above, meet several of the amazing women who keep Hephzibah House running day to day. Our front desk staff consider their role a ministry- they take care of administrative needs, but they also are committed to encouraging and praying for our guests.

  • Housekeeping Team

Our housekeeping staff faithfully keep the entire facility sparkling clean- all seven floors! A house full of historic detail and buzzing with daily activity presents a big challenge and a lot of dust and laundry, and without their thorough and consistent care, nothing else at Hephzibah House could happen.
