Front Desk Associate, Part Time

Hephzibah House is seeking a part time Front Desk Associate to join our team!

Work hours would be Tuesdays and Fridays, 8am-4pm, September-June, with the option to extend into the summer and beyond. Training: Minimum two days in the week of August 26-29.

Description:

The Front Desk Associate is often the one making a first impression for Hephzibah House. They respond to the needs and questions of our overnight guests and preside over a hospitable environment at Hephzibah House as people are coming and going. Administrative tasks include managing guest check-ins and check-outs, monitoring the front desk email inbox, answering the phones and occasional special projects. Hospitality duties include managing the coffee station, keeping the parlor orderly, and being available to help guests if they have questions about getting around the city. Most importantly, the front desk role is a ministry. “Hephzibah” means “God’s delight”- this is our guiding star for Christian hospitality.  All guests should sense the love and delight of God for them, both through the environment we cultivate and in every interaction with our staff. With sensitivity to the Holy Spirit, be prepared to lend a listening ear and provide gospel-informed, Biblical encouragement to our guests.

Qualifications:

Must be able to wholeheartedly affirm our statements of faith and belief, and be able to clearly articulate the Christian gospel.

Must be fluent with Gmail, Google calendar, and Google Docs/Sheets. Aptitude for learning a new software platform (our booking system).

Superb writing skills for email correspondence with guests.

Experience in a professional office environment, hospitality industry, and/or ministry work a plus.
